MTA Partner, Carol Phillips, and Associate, Jay Zhao, will be presenting at the 2024 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) in London, UK on Tuesday September 24th on our joint project with Acton Ostry Architects Inc., Limberlost Place at George Brown College.
Winner of two CTBUH Awards of Excellence (Innovation Award and Structure Award), the project combines design and structural innovation with advanced prefabricated tall building façade systems, as well as an optimized use of decentralized mechanical systems working in consort with passive systems, to produce a building that is the healthiest environment for both its users and for the planet. Limberlost Place is composed of a mass timber structure, and achieves the highest levels of our municipal targets, well in advance of the 2030 TEDI, TEUI, and GHGI reductions.
Fast + Epp Partner, Robert Jackson, will also be delivering a presentation on the project, entitled “Limberlost Place: A Slab Banded Timber System”, the same day as Carol and Jay’s, entitled “Limberlost Place: Healthy Design Practice”. We are excited about the positive recognition this project is receiving through CTBUH and feel deeply honoured to represent the entire team that made Limberlost Place a reality on an international stage.
