Diarmuid Nash Recipient of King Charles III’s Coronation Medal

We are pleased to share that Diarmuid Nash, longstanding Partner at Moriyama Teshima Architects, has been selected to receive a King Charles III’s Coronation Medal! Diarmuid has been recognized in light of the significant contributions he has made for his country, both locally and abroad, through his many years of service in the architecture and design industry.

Diarmuid has won multiple OAA Design Excellence Awards and Governor General’s Awards among a wide range of other accolades for his leading-edge designs and project leadership. He has accompanied his design work with a powerful commitment to the advancement of the architectural profession in Canada, serving as President of both the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and as Chancellor of the RAIC College of Fellows. He has continually instructed future architects at the Daniels School of Architecture on matters of professional practice for more than two decades.

Diarmuid’s substantial design expertise is demonstrated in projects such as the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, the National Museum of Saudi Arabia, the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2020, and the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto.

“I, like many of my esteemed colleagues, see Diarmuid as an ambassador for Canadian Architecture, unifying the country’s built landscape from coast to coast. His encouragement of a participatory design culture has been fundamental in maintaining the character of MTA. Diarmuid’s influence has raised the profile of architecture in Canada, creating enduring, landmark spaces that compel people to visit again and again.”
