Last week, we joined the global design community in celebrating World Interiors Day, an international celebration of interior architecture and design, championing the power of thoughtful, intentional spaces to shape our well-being, culture, and environment.

At Moriyama Teshima Architects, our Interiors group has been actively exploring how material choices impact the future of our built environment. In line with this year’s focus on sustainability, the MTA interiors group presented on bio-based and low embodied carbon interior finish materials, highlighting strategies for reducing environmental impact through thoughtful material selection.

By championing low-carbon and bio-based materials, we aim to reduce our projects’ environmental footprint while still achieving the high-performance, elegant interiors we’re known for. From renewable resources to lifecycle-conscious specifications, our team is committed to creating beautiful spaces that respect the planet.
