Limberlost Place (designed with Acton Ostry Architects Inc.), currently under construction at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus in Toronto, has been serving as a resource for open-source information and knowledge sharing for the architectural, engineering, and construction communities. MTA Partner Carol Phillips and Principal Phil Silverstein have been actively guiding many groups through the building, including stakeholders, government officials, academics, architects, and media, creating awareness of the leading-edge mass timber design of this landmark building.
Notable tour participants include the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, Ian Dunn (President and CEO of Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA)), representatives from the Canadian Wood Council, Paul Calandra (Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing), as well as Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown of AsapSCIENCE.
“Touring people through Limberlost Place has been an immensely positive experience, illuminating the integration of different professional specialities in a tangible, awe-inspiring way. This project stands as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and creativity, inspiring us to push the boundaries of possibility.”
– Phil Silverstein, Moriyama Teshima Architects
