We are celebrating the Aga Khan Museum today in honour of International Museum Day which takes place tomorrow. This facility, whose 10-year anniversary will be commemorated this fall, is a landmark cultural complex located in Toronto, and the first museum in North America dedicated to the arts of Muslim civilizations. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions, educational programs and cultural events, this facility fosters knowledge and understanding of Islamic civilization and its artistic, intellectual, scientiļ¬c, and religious heritage.
International Museum Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the power of museums to inspire, educate, and connect us to new cultures, studies, and practices. At MTA, we recognize that architecture plays a pivotal role in shaping memorable museum experiences, going beyond that which is displayed within them.
