Limberlost Place Wins 2022 World Architecture Festival WAFX Award

Additional 2022 World Architecture Festival Awards news – Limberlost Place at George Brown College has won a WAFX Award!

The WAFX Award celebrates international proposals which embrace cutting-edge design approaches to address major world issues ranging from tackling the climate emergency to building community resilience. In addition to being selected as a finalist in the Future Projects – Education category, this project, a joint venture with Acton Ostry Architects, is one of 20 selected for the WAFX prize.

The design of Limberlost Place enhances connections to the adjacent natural spaces of Toronto’s waterfront, and acts as a vessel for innovative spaces for learning and student
life. This versatile and light-footprint building is filled with warm, intimate, and collegial spaces that evoke a sense of purpose and permanence in the landscape. The reduced carbon footprint of Limberlost Place will play an important role in climate change mitigation and future sustainable development of cities across the globe.
