We are looking forward to the exciting lineup of events included in the 2023 Ontario Association of Architects Conference agenda, which is taking place in Sudbury this week.
The location of this year’s conference is special to us at Moriyama Teshima Architects, as we celebrate the recently opened Place des Arts, the first multidisciplinary art centre of its kind in Northern Ontario. A guided tour of the building will take place on Thursday June 22nd, and a presentation, entitled “Place des Arts: Design Collaboration at the Twilight of the Master Builder Era”, will be conducted in the afternoon by project leaders Brian Rudy, Partner at MTA, Amber Salach and Louis Bélanger of Bélanger Salach Architecture, and Jason Philippe (previously, MTA).
On Friday, Building Equity in Architecture North will be running a session entitled “Building Coalition”, where initiatives and ongoing projects undertaken by BEA(N) (the newest chapter of BEA) will be discussed, as well as paths forward through advocacy, policy, and steps toward implementation within the architectural profession. The panel includes Emmanuelle van Rutten, Partner at MTA, Shannon Bassett of the McEwen School of Architecture, Amber Salach of Bélanger Salach Architecture, and Angele Dmytruk of 3rdLine.Studio Inc.
Wishing both Brian and Emmanuelle all the best for their respective seminars during the OAA Conference!
