The team leading the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) Headquarters and Multi-Tenant Commercial Building project celebrated its construction progress during a special opening tour event!

This marks a major milestone for our firm, as OSSTF is MTA’s first completed mass timber building. MTA Partner-in-Charge, Carol Phillips, delivered a moving address on what this project means not only for client group o but for the wider architectural community. This project stands as an exemplar of sustainable building practices through its seamless integration to the natural surrounding landscape of the Don Valley Ravine, its employment of a carbon sequestering, mass timber structural system, and its high energy efficiency performance levels, to name a few.

Negar Penahi of BTY Group and Ryan Desjardins of Eastern Construction each spoke of their positive experiences guiding the development of this one-of-a-kind building to a successful close. The hard work and dedication of their teams in bringing OSSTF to reality cannot be understated.
