Check out these most recent photos documenting the construction progress on the Parks Canada Collections and Curatorial Centre (PCCC) project in Gatineau, Quebec! The 24/7/365 nature of a collection storage environment, like that of a library, necessitated that all building systems were designed to allow for non-disruptive access for routine maintenance and replacement. Cost benefits to this approach can be found in the ability of the modular, double layered wall construction of the building envelope (pictured here) to allow for total compartmentalization of the interior during maintenance operations to maintain a stable indoor environment.
