Earlier this month, MTA team members including Montana McMurtry, Ehsan Naimpour, and Carolina Mellado (pictured), attended the Mass Timber Seminar held at George Brown College’s Daphne Cockwell Centre. The team attended informative presentations led by diverse experts in the industry and enjoyed the opportunity to network with attendants also interested in sustainable building practices.
Special shout-out to Nerys Rau (Director, Construction and Design, George Brown College), Simon Gallagher (Team Leader, Nordic Structures), and our very own Carol Phillips (Partner, Moriyama Teshima Architects) who delivered an informative and dynamic presentation on the inception, design, and construction of Limberlost Place, the highly innovative, mass timber, ten-storey academic building designed by MTA and Acton Ostry Architects.
We wish to thank Rothoblaas and the Brookfield Sustainability Institute for organizing this important event.
