The Goldring Student Centre at the University of Toronto St. George Campus turns 10 today!
The Goldring Student Centre at Victoria University (the oldest college in the University of Toronto) is a renovation and 40,000 SF addition to Eric Arthur’s Wymilwood Building, which doubled the size of the original building and introduced contemporary and accessible student and administrative spaces. The primary spaces overlook the beautiful, outdoor quad, which is the heart of the project, and was made possible by the relocation of an access road that previously ran through the site. This allowed the design team to introduce a new green space that connects the building to nature and to the adjacent student residence. The porous, welcoming, and animated ground plane reinforces pedestrian routes through the campus, and attracts students into the building’s exceptional interior and exterior spaces.
