Bata Shoe Museum Celebrates 30 Years

On May 6th, the Bata Shoe Museum celebrated 30 years! Founded by Mrs. Sonja Bata, the museum opened its doors in 1995 with a mission to illuminate human history through footwear. What began as a small personal collection has since transformed into an internationally celebrated museum, caring for nearly 15,000 shoes and shoe-related artifacts spanning over 4,500 years. MTA Partner Diarmuid Nash attended the event and is pictured here with bootmaker Tony Benattar and Ajon Moriyama.

“It was a great evening celebrating 30 years of this wonderful museum and an opportunity to connect and reminisce with people involved in the building’s design.” – Diarmuid Nash, Partner
