Carol Phillips Presents Limberlost Place as Case Study at CTBUH 2025 Lead-Up Event

Earlier this week, Carol Phillips, Partner at Moriyama Teshima Architects, spoke at a panel discussion at Limberlost Place on George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus, as part of a lead-up event to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2025 International Conference, taking place in Toronto later this year.

Following opening remarks by CTBUH’s CEO Javier Quintana de Uña and a presentation from the City of Toronto’s James Parakh, fellow project leaders Nerys Rau (George Brown College), Krista Palen (Transsolar), and Mike Love (PCL Construction) joined Carol on the panel moderated by Steven Street (WoodWorks Ontario, Canadian Wood Council). The conversation offered an inside look at Limberlost Place as a case study in occupant-centered design, exploring how thoughtful architecture, sustainable materials, and integrated city infrastructure can shape low-carbon, socially connected spaces.

As Limberlost Place begins its life as a new academic home for George Brown College, we’re proud to see it continue to serve as a catalyst for dialogue, innovation, and climate leadership in architecture.
