It is so exciting to look between this concept render (above) of the future Parks Canada Collections and Curatorial Centre and a photograph (below) taken of the construction site of the facility in Gatineau, Quebec, which has been under work since January of 2021.
This 100% electric facility will be zero carbon operational, boasting an ultra-high performance double envelope with dynamic buffer zone. The space will house and protect millions of priceless Canadian historical and archeological artifacts, consolidated from six separate national Collection Facilities. Once completed, the Parks Canada Collections and Curatorial Centre will be one of the densest artifact collections in the world, thanks to the use of high density, compact storage systems.
This project has been moving forward successfully thanks to the efforts of Pomerleau (Contractor), as well as our fantastic joint-venture partner firm, NFOE Architecture. We are proud to be a part of this fantastic team contributing to a significant cultural and academic resource for Canada!
