Longhouse basket workshop at Niagara Falls History Museum June 18
It is National Indigenous History Month – a time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.
On June 18th, the Niagara Falls History Museum will host a longhouse basket-weaving workshop led by Kimberly White-Atkins, an Akwesasne Mohawk of the Turtle Clan. The craft of basket-weaving is an important tradition, as they were used for both utilitarian and ceremonial purposes.
