End of Summer and Outdoor Urban Spaces

As we bid farewell to summer today and say hello to autumn tomorrow, we are thinking of all the wonderful outdoor spaces we have enjoyed throughout the warmer months.

Pictured here is the Aga Khan Museum (designed with Maki and Associates) and the Ismaili Centre (designed with Charles Correa Associates) located adjacent to the Don Valley in Toronto. These two cultural buildings are surrounded by the stunning landscape of Wynford Park. This 7-acre site is unified by walking paths winding through naturalized woodlands, while traditional Islamic gardens with formal rows of trees, fountains, and reflecting pools provide quiet, contemplative, outdoor spaces.
