More tremendous news regarding the 2022 World Architecture Festival Awards – Mukwa Waakaa’igan Indigenous Centre of Cultural Excellence at Algoma University has won a WAFX Award!

The WAFX Award celebrates international proposals which embrace cutting-edge design approaches to address major world issues ranging from tackling the climate emergency to building community resilience. In addition to being selected as a finalist in the Future Projects – Education category, this project, a joint venture with Smoke Architecture, is one of twenty selected for the WAFX prize.

The overall vision for this project is to foster cross-cultural learning and teaching; listening to and encouraging diverse perspectives of all user groups, in the hopes of creating a respectful understanding toward one other and the planet.
