MTA’s first completed mass timber building, the architecture of OSSTF prioritizes democratic access to light and views as well as access to outdoor space and communal connection to the Don Valley landscape. This transformative process (of which 97.4% of the total demolition waste was diverted from landfill) has resulted in a facility of improved environmental and financial sustainability. The exposed timber environment, beyond the commitment to renewable, carbon sequestering construction, creates a meaningful connection to nature in the daily life of the employees.
