Phil Attends World Conference on Timber Engineering

Phil Silverstein, Principal at Moriyama Teshima Architects, recently attended the World Conference on Timber Engineering in Oslo, Norway. This multi-day event focused on sustainability and the role of wood as an attractive and environmentally friendly material for application in the building sector. A wide array of industry professionals took part, including those in architecture, engineering, production, construction, and manufacturing.

Phil was thrilled to witness the undeniable energy and enthusiasm throughout the many presentations he observed, promoting the appeal of mass timber as a sustainable resource.

“The need for the international community to come together, share experiences, and close the knowledge gap, is evident. Conferences like this allow for teams to connect, while building an open line of communication across borders. We need to discuss sustainability in architecture on a global scale, and be leaders within our respective communities ”.
