Place des Arts, designed by MTA in joint venture with Bélanger Salach Architecture, provides a unified home for Regroupement des Organismes Culturels de Sudbury, whose collective voice speaks for the Francophone arts culture in Greater Sudbury. Since its opening in spring of 2022, the building has noticeably increased community activity as well as tourist engagement. It welcomes those from near and far to engage with the artistic works of the members themselves in a space that fosters creativity, promotes social interaction, and acts as a civic beacon for Northern Ontario.

The design of Place des Arts strikes a balance between integrating with the distinct visual context of its urban character while simultaneously standing out as a unique and powerful architectural landmark. This public facility boasts thoughtfully planned amenities at street-level with visual connections to the neighbourhood through the glazed façade on the building’s primary elevation and accessible balcony spaces. Inside, the diverse spatial types provide endless opportunities for activities such as craft, performance, studying, and more.
