Olivia Keung, Associate at MTA, was a featured guest at the Building Equality in Architecture Toronto (BEAT) Leadership Seminar this past weekend!
The event began at T3 Bayside, where Olivia and Dima Cook of EVOQ Architecture, Kendra Kusick of Teeple Architects Inc., Jennifer Davis of WZMH Architects, and Sophie Tremblay of LGA Architectural Partners, spoke on their own experiences in pursuing technical specialties in design, and how doing so can lead to fulfilling career pathways for women in architecture. Following this, Olivia led participants on a tour of Moriyama Teshima Architects’ Toronto studio. She provided a personal and in-depth look at how our practice functions, and fielded questions related to project work, design production, and sustainability metrics for buildings under construction today.
“The work that BEAT does to promote equity for women in architectural practices is so important as we continue to push for change. It was an honour to share the stage with these talented leaders to highlight the need for greater representation in technical areas and the agency we have to enact change through our expertise.”
