Carol and Phil Speak on Timber Talk Series Panel

MTA Partner, Carol Phillips, and Principal, Phil Silverstein, were featured speakers at this month’s Timber Talks Series, organized by the College of Carpenters and Allied Trades and UBC Built (Local 27, Toronto’s Carpenters’ Union) and sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

This seminar, entitled Building Ontario’s Global Leadership: Harnessing the Potential of Ontario’s Forest Products, involved two sessions of presentations discussing the role of wood and timber materials in today’s design and construction industry. Phil and Carol both discussed Limberlost Place at George Brown College, our mass timber project designed with Acton Ostry Architects. They were joined on the panel by Paul Stevens of ZAS Architects, Mark Gaglione of Ellis Don, and Zenon Radewych of WZMH (pictured).

Thank you, Mike Yorke, for organizing such an engaging and thought-provoking event! We are proud to be at the forefront of discussions surrounding sustainable building practices and mass timber design in architecture. Read more about the event here.
