Carol Phillips Earned Honorary Degree from and Delivers Keynote Address at George Brown College

Carol Phillips, Partner at Moriyama Teshima Architects, delivered the keynote address at the recent convocation ceremony for George Brown College’s Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies, in addition to being awarded an honorary degree!

Carol’s leadership on the design and realization of Limberlost Place at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus (with Acton Ostry Architects), has set in motion a new wave of mass timber construction across Canada and influenced changes to the Ontario Building Code, allowing for taller buildings with exposed mass timber structures. Through Limberlost Place, Carol has demonstrated her innovative vision and profound understanding of architecture’s potential to shape a sustainable future. Carol delivered an inspiring address to the graduating students, highlighting the importance of innovation, sustainability, and community, in delivering architecture with the power for positive change.

“What every one of you, and we together, will do going forward, is a creative and crucial part of a solution to a renewed and positive future.”
– Carol Phillips, Moriyama Teshima Architects

Join us in sending congratulations to all the graduates, and to Carol, on this well-deserved honour! Her dedication and leadership are an inspiration.
