MTA Excited to Begin Work on Canada Revenue Agency Building Project in Newfoundland

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected as the prime design consultant for the new Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Building to be constructed in St. John’s, Newfoundland! MTA Partner-in-Charge, Brian Rudy is proud of the team’s intentions to design a structure that is culturally sensitive, will be a beautiful, and comfortable space for its users, while aligning with the federal government’s initiative to lower carbon emissions and prioritize climate resilience.

“Architecture lives in a public space and within an existing culture. Every project is different, so we want to make this a special and appropriate new addition to the St. John’s and Newfoundland landscape.”
– Brian Rudy, Moriyama Teshima Architects

MTA Senior Associate Cathy McMahon joined Brian in St. John’s Newfoundland last week to do some initial explorations of the site. This provided some useful insights related to the land, the culture, and the history of the area, and a chance to connect with local firms Woodford Architecture, Carvel & Helm Design Group, MAE Design, Mills & Wright Landscape Architecture Inc, and AES Inc., who we are delighted to have on our team for this exciting project!
