St. FX University Celebrating New Project’s LEED Gold Achievement

We feel overjoyed to have contributed toward a leading institutional project in the way of sustainability – the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia has received official certification for LEED Gold New Construction. The building features a highly durable and efficient envelope that leverages deep well geothermal fields and a 45kW rooftop solar array to reduce the building’s operational carbon footprint. The team selected hard wearing materials with high recycled content and zero, or ultra-low, volatile organic emissions, as well as responsibly sourced woods, to shape key features of the interior spaces.

“Above and beyond the technical accomplishments of the building, MTA is especially proud of how the design enhances the quality of the indoor environment and user experience…”
Mohammed al Riffai, MTA Principal and Project Lead
