The Canada Pavilion at the Dubai Expo offered an exciting draw for visitors to experience the diversity, energy, and innovation of contemporary Canadian society. Inspired by our country’s stunning landscapes, as well as Arab architectural elements, the Pavilion stood as a symbolic representation of the strong cultural ties between the two distant geographic regions. Appearing as a large floating disc hovering above the Plaza, the external wood screen was composed of a modular layering of geometric panels on vertical supports, evoking the experience of a Canadian forest and defined by rhythmic verticals connected by an airy, foliage-like lattice.

LOOP is an open platform to creativity and talent, where all the participants may showcase their best works, giving them great visibility around the world, and whose goal is to celebrate and honour diversity with remarkable works globally. We are very happy to have this internationally significant architectural structure recognized though this distinguished awards program.
