Fifteen years have passed since the opening of the Desmarais Building at the University of Ottawa!
This gateway project located in downtown Ottawa is the home of the U of O’s Telfer School of Management and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Upon completion, the Desmarais Building set a new standard in architectural excellence on campus, reflecting the University’s overall commitment to creating better quality learning environments for students. A twelve-storey structure, this impressive facility houses lecture theatres, academic and administrative offices, computer and research labs, student lounges and association spaces, classrooms and a large multipurpose hall.
“The architectural precast was the ideal choice for the new Desmarais building at the University of Ottawa. The material gave the project a sense of mass and presence in the busy urban context, while being sensitive to the colour palette and materials of neighbouring historic buildings.”
