Carol Presenting at 2023 Woodrise Congress

In two weeks, MTA Partner and Sustainability Leader, Carol Phillips, will be presenting at Woodrise 2023 in Bordeaux, France – an internationally regarded conference bringing together over 3,000 participants to discuss various global issues of medium- and high-rise wood construction and its integration into sustainable cities.

Carol’s talk on Wednesday October 18, entitled “Growth and Regrowth – Limberlost Place and the Use of Timber in Ontario”, will focus on the design and ongoing construction of Limberlost Place for George Brown College, a 10-storey, exposed mass timber, net-zero carbon emissions building for an assembly occupancy designed in collaboration between Moriyama Teshima Architects and Acton Ostry Architects. Further related discussion topics, presented through a Canadian-based lens, will include mass timber fabrication, approvals and regulations of mass timber design, as well as other challenges and opportunities.
