Emmanuelle and Ronen Presenting on the West Memorial Building Rehabilitation at the 2024 RAIC Conference
MTA’s Partners Emmanuelle van Rutten (featured in the video below) and Ronen Bauer will be presenting with James Rice of Kasian Architecture Interior Design & Planning Ltd at the 2024 the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Conference in May on the design and technical features of the West Memorial Building (WMB) Rehabilitation project in Ottawa.
The lecture will be focused around 3 areas: the urban realm and heritage context, how the design integrated the Supreme Court needs into this unique building, and the technical aspects of the rehabilitation and new interventions.
This major rehabilitation, taking place almost 70 years after WMB’s initial construction, is bringing the building up to contemporary standards with all design decisions keeping longevity, durability, and sustainability top of mind.
