The joint team of MTA and Barrie & Langille Architects (BLA) had the pleasure of attending the grand opening event of the recently completed Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Sydney Waterfront Campus!
MTA’s Carol Phillips, Cathy McMahon, Luis Quezada, and Damineh Dehnadfar, along with former Partner Daniel Teramura and BLA’s Mike Barrie, were able to meaningfully engage with community members, new students, and NSCC leadership staff, while touring the facility and its grounds. This was a celebratory moment for the group to relish in their collaborative accomplishment of this institutional landmark – a truly transformative building project that will impact generations upon generations who come to Sydney to learn and teach. For Daniel and Mike, the NSCC Sydney Waterfront Campus represents a cornerstone moment in their professional lives, as they now transition to their well-deserved retirements.
“We were thrilled to see the vibrant energy on the NSCC campus in Sydney, with the technical shops, lounges and class spaces filled with students and faculty. The grand opening welcomed thousands of high schoolers and the public for tours. There is a bright future for trades education in Sydney. Our team is proud to be part of this transformative project.”
